Commencement for 287 undergraduates and 266 graduates

On 1st July 2011, University of Economics and Business - VNU has solemnly organized the commencement and degree awarding for 287 QH-2007-E undergraduates and 266 QH-2008-E.CH graduates.


Attending the ceremony were Assoc.Prof.PhD. Phung Xuan Nha, VNU Vice President and representatives from departments, centers and units under the VNU; faculty, staffs, parents and students from UEB; and enterprise leaders who have partnerships with the UEB.

Speaking at the commencement, Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Hong Son, Rector, congratulated 287 undergraduates and 266 graduates. He said that the efforts that they had made while studying affirmed the qualities of the training programs and themselves. He encouraged them to keep a close contact with the School and further contribute to the training of following generations wherever they work and whatever positions they take in the future.

Assoc.Prof.PhD. Phung Xuan Nha awards the certificate of merit by VNU President to Tran Thi Thu Nga (QH-2007-E Finance - Banking) who graduated with the highest score at UEB.

Assoc.Prof.PhD. Phung Xuan Nha was moved to witness the graduation of the first generation of students trained by the University of Economics and Business after its upgrading from the Faculty of Political Economy. When he was rector of the Universtiy of Economics and Business, Assoc.Prof.PhD. Phung Xuan Nha had prioritized the development of honor and international standard training programs. The graduation asserted that the priority that the Management board, faculties and staffs have been pursuing is right. He thanked the students for having selected the Vietnam National University, Hanoi for study.

“For the graduates, this is a beginning - a first milestone for you to better your performance at work. The University of Economics and Business will always be a destination for you to share knowledge,” Assoc.Prof.PhD. Phung Xuan Nha said. He also thanked the UEB’s partners and parents for their close collaboration in training high-quality generations of students. He hoped the University of Economics and Business go on receiving supports and cooperation from the partners and parents.

At the ceremony, the University of Economics and Business offered diplomas for 287 students at undergraduate level including 16 students from honor programs, 45 political economy, 78 international economics, 55 business administration and 93 finance and banking. At graduate level, 266 students including 11 in economics, 9 international economics and 246 business administration were given diplomas.

Also on this occasion, the University of Economics and Business’s leaders awarded 65 undergraduates and 4 graduates who achieved top academic results, including a certificate of merit signed by VNU’s President; certificates of commendation by UEB Rector for: 1 excellent students, 55 good students, 4 good and socially active students, 4 good and disadvantaged students; 3 excellent students from the research-oriented and practice-oriented programs; and an excellent and socially active graduate.

Addressing at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Viet, Executive Director of Bao Son Group thanked the University of Economics and Business for its cooperation. Bao Son has recently announced its vacancies, he welcome students graduated from the University to apply for those positions.

Representing the students awarded with certificates of merit, Tran Thi Thu Nga, expressed her heart-felt thanks to the University’s UEB leaders and faculties. She wished other undergraduates good strength to overcome difficulties they may face in the future and strong determination to make their dreams come true.

Representing the graduate students, Mr. Nguyen Hong Hai thanked VNU and UEB Management Boards and faculties for having provided them with best learning conditions. He promised he will make the best use of the knowledge and skills that he learned from the program in work.
