VEPR organized a training course on “Analyze and forecast energy price” for PVN

The Vietnam Centre for Economic and Policy Research - UEB organized the training course “Analyze and forecast energy price” for personnel of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group from 16th to 20th November 2009 at the University of Economics and Business, Vietnam National University.
The course provided principles of forecasting energy price, analyzing factors in price forecasting model. The course focused on the petroleum and gas market. The course also introduced quantitative tools for forecasting price of petroleum and gas. The participants were trained to use specialized software to analyze data and testing price forecasting model.
Two lecturers are Dr. Pham The Anh, majoring in macroeconomics and modeling, and Dr. Bui Xuan Hoi, majoring in economics of energy.
The 26 participants of the course were from different units of PetroVietnam such as PetroVietnam Power, PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemicals Corporation, Market Development Section, etc.
