University of Economics and Business and University of Foreign Languages - VNU signed agreement in cooperative training

On 29th August 2008, the signing ceremony in cooperative training between two universities belong to Vietnam National University, Hanoi: University of Economics and Business (UEB) and College of Foreign Languages (CFL) had been held. This event is a successful step in the cooperation of each college in particular and of Vietnam National University, Hanoi in general.


 Presence at the ceremony, there were Prof.Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan - President of VNU, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Van Nha - Head of Training Deparment - VNU, Prof. Ha Xuan Trung - UEB of Stellars JSC, Prof. Ha Ton Vinh - General Manager of Stellars JSC, representatives of the UEB and CFL, many scientists and businessmen.

After the speeches of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phung Xuan Nha - Rector of the UEB and Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoa - Rector of CFL, the signing ceremony was solemnly and friendly carried out.

The cooperative agreements emphasized: The cooperation is based on spontaneous, equal regulations, brings mutual benefit and utilizes professional advantages, which are appropriate to functions, missions and capabilities of both two sides.

Accordingly, the content of cooperative agreement is as follow:

  1. Constructing and implementing cooperative training programs (double degrees, double majors) between the two colleges.
  2. Organizing training courses to improve the quality of the staffs.
  3. Teaching and organizing English tests for students.
  4. Implementing cooperative programs/projects of concern of both two sides.

This cooperative agreement is the legal base for the both two sides to conduct particular cooperative programs. This agreement lasts for 5 years and is effective since the signing date.

At the ceremony, on behalf of leadership of Vietnam National University, Prof.Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan said: The signing ceremony between the UEB and the CFL is the first event to utilize the advantages of prestigious institution of Vietnam National University. In Vietnam, it is difficult to be a training institution, but it even more difficult to be the leading institution in interdisciplinary. Only Vietnam National University is able to be, thus Vietnam National University will provide best environment and strengthen the cooperation among members to meet the development requirements of society and the country.

Previously, on 27th June 2008, the both two sides had detailed discussion and agreed to construct the project named “Cooperative training between the UEB and the CFL”. At the beginning, the two sides will focus on building two cooperative training programs: Double degrees and Double majors. It is expected that after the program is approved, the two colleges will be able to start enrolling students for double degrees program in the academic year of 2008-2009.
