Universities in response to the Sustainable Development Goals - SDGs

On October 31, 2021, The Center for Economic Development Studies of the University of Economics and Business (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), in collaboration with the University of Da Nang - University of Science and Education, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, RMIT University, and Green Hub organized an online seminar. The event aimed to connect and share scientific researches as well as practical activities of the universities to implement the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.


The seminar attracted a large number of lecturers, speakers and students
The talkshow had the participation of Dr. Pham Vu Thang - Director of Development Economics Research Center, University of Economics & Business- VNU, Dr. Nguyen Thuy Anh - Lecturer of Faculty of Political Economy, University of Economics & Business - VNU, Dr. Kieu Thi Kinh – Lecturer at University of Education, University of Danang and Dr. Trinh Tu Anh – Lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and speakers from RMIT University Vietnam and Green Hub Vietnam. Especially, the talkshow also marked the presence of Ms. Pham Oanh, representative of the ICM Falk Foundation, with the mission of sponsoring and supporting the implementation of circular solutions and upstream innovation. The program attracted 150 students attended and shared their ongoing projects.
 The seminar discussed "hot" topic in the current new normal - Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
During the seminar, speakers, social activists, development organizations, lecturers, and students had exciting discussions about SDG-based models, strategies, plans, and activities implemented. At the end of the seminar, students had the opportunity to share their project models and express their concerns during the implementation. They have received guidance from teachers and experts, as well as gained practical perspectives from development organizations.
 With the participation of lecturers, speakers and researchers, the seminar has built a space for exchanging and discussing new era knowledge.
This is the first networking event for experts, researchers, and students interested in the university's contribution to the goals of sustainable development. With consensus from participating units, Dr. Pham Vu Thang Director of Research Center for Development Economics, University of Economics & Business, VNU continues to be the focal point to connect and develop a network of like-minded stakeholders to facilitate more information and cooperation in the future.
The seminar program not only allows professors and students to share their knowledge, but it also provides chances for future integrated development.
