Signing MOU between UEB and WEC Vietnam

On September 24th, 2021, the VNU University of Economics and Business (UEB) and the World Energy Council in Vietnam (WEC Vietnam) officially signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in research and training in the energy sector to promote the development of the economy based on clean energy sources and energy security.


The ceremony welcomed Assoc.Prof. Nguyen Truc Le – Rector of the UEB; Assoc.Prof. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector and leaders of offices, faculties and schools. From the World Energy Council in Vietnam, there were Ms. Titathy Nguyen – Leader representative; Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy - Chief of Office; together with business representatives being partners of WEC Vietnam.

At the signing ceremony, the both sides agreed on the necessity of cooperation between business and economics researchers, lecturers and experts to give warnings and policy recommendations for government organizations to ensure energy security and maintain clean energy sources for the goal of sustainable economic development.

 

Overview of the signing ceremony

The cooperation agreement between the UEB and WEC aims at strengthening and expanding cooperation to promote research, development, building scientific and technological foundations and solutions in the energy field. Specifically, the two sides will cooperate in organizing short course and long term training programs in the fields of energy economics, renewable energy investment efficiency, applied energy, energy security. The two sides will work together to cooperate in projects, research programs, and policy consulting activities related to energy economics, renewable energy investment efficiency, and applied energy deployment in Vietnam.

As committed in the MOU, WEC Vietnam will also provide funding for research and start-up activities conducted by UEB’s members as well as create favorable conditions for UEB students to take internship at WEC's partners.
