The conference was attended by leading representatives of 2 co-organizing units: Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector of the UEB; Assoc.Prof. Tran Thi Thanh Tu – Dean of Faculty of Finance and Banking; PhD. Dang Tung Lam – Dean of Faculty of Finance, Danang University of Economics; and representatives of state management agencies, banking leaders, enterprises leaders, scientists, experts, policymakers in the field of finance and banking. The event got attention from local media and those who are interested.

In her opening remarks, Assoc.Prof.PhD. Tran Thi Thanh Tu – Dean of Faculty of Banking and Finance, VNU University of Economics and Business said: “This is the third conference in the series of workshops related to the State-level projects that the UEB is currently implementing. The research on"Developing a green financial system to promote green economy in Vietnam", code KX.01.27/16.20, is a part of the key national science and technology program for the period 2016-2020. The conference focuses on issues related to green financial market, all presentations as well as comments in the conference will be aggregated to include in the report of the research”. Assoc.Prof.PhD. Tran Thi Thanh Tu also expressed her gratitude to Danang University of Economics for coordinating to organize the conference.
Afterward, in her speech, Assoc.Prof.PhD. Nguyen Anh Thu – Vice Rector of the UEB said: sustainable development and environmental protection are urgent issues at present, requiring practical and highly applicable researches to help the management agencies in making suitable policies. The UEB always identifies researches on Green Finance development as key research area. Therefore, it can propose suitable recommendations for the relevant subjects. She also highly appreciated the cooperation from the Danang University of Economics and expecting that two universities would strengthen the tie with more cooperative activities in the future.
From University of Economics - Da Nang University, PhD. Dang Tung Lam - Dean of the Faculty of Finance also shared his desire to create a forum for scientists and policy makers to exchange, discuss and bring about meaningful scientific research results. He also wants the two universities to develop the working partnership and cooperation in joint activities.
Next is the presentation of all discussions. The first presentation is discussed by PhD. Can Van Luc - Chief Economist of BIDV - Director of Training & Research Institute with the topic: Situation of Vietnam financial market – Case and solutions.
PhD. Can Van Luc said Vietnam has potentiality to develop Green Financial system over 16 different fields
The presentation gave an overview of the green financial market in Vietnam, with a situation analysis of three main tools: green bonds, sustainable stocks and green credit. Then analyzing the potentials for developing green financial market in Vietnam and propose appropriate solutions for the Government, the Ministry of Finance, the State Securities Committee, the State Bank, credit institutions and universities, research institutes.
For this presentation, PhD. Hoang Viet Trung - Member of the Board of Members, Deposit Insurance of Vietnam had some recommendations, in which he suggested that it is possible to expand further researches on consumer loan products in order to encourage people to turn to green consumption and green investment trends.
The second presentation "Green bonds, a financial tool for the sustainable development of businesses." was presented by Assoc.Prof. Nguyen Thi Minh Hue, Institute of Financial Banking - National Economics University.
With this speech, Ms. Hue presented related matters to Green Bond, a tool to develop the Green Finance market. In particular, the presentation provided the survey results on people's awareness, support and investment orientation for green products in the future which include nearly 200 participants. For this presentation, PhD. Dinh Bao Ngoc also had some suggestions to expand and complete the research.
Finally, it was the presentation of PhD. Nguyen Thi Hong Thuy, Dean of Faculty of Accounting and Auditing on UEB "Developing a set of indicators for evaluating and developing green financial system."
The presentation stated international experiences in building green indicators, presenting methods, approaches and proposing green indicators to apply in Vietnam. Afterwards, PhD. Nguyen Cao Minh Nhi also gave some comments and suggestions to improve the paper.
After presentations, there was an intense critic and discussion of all participants for 3 speeches and the conference’s topic.

The conference ended after 3 hours of continuous working. In her speech at the end of the conference, Assoc.Prof.PhD. Tran Thi Thanh Tu express her gratitude to all participants and hoping that the conference will be the first step to open up new research directions on Green Finance in Vietnam.
