Innovation or being left behind? This is a question concerning most education institutions in the context of international integration and education internationalization, which has a strong impact on universities across the globe, including Vietnam. Improving the quality of education, meeting the requirements of international standards is the motivation for the UEB to comprehensively renovate teaching activities.

From 2019 to 2025, innovating teaching activities at the University will focus on four main components, including: (1) Innovating practical activities, internship and practical experts; (2) Innovating learning materials system; (3) Innovating teaching methods; (4) Innovating training management activities. These components will be designed to be simple and compact to meet the diverse demands of the learners. In addition, the quality assurance conditions and training quality testing system will be applied to ensure the training outcome of international standards.

A new feature of the project which was highlighted by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Tu, Head of Project is to create the open learning environment for students. Accordingly, the students can choose subjects not only from the framework of the UEB but also from other economic universities in the South and the Central provinces. The UEB will sign the MOU with these universities so that the subjects can be recognized, which creates favorable condition for the students to have cultural and life experiences during their college time.

In addition, the comprehensive innovation of teaching activities also focuses on building a system of narrow specialized subjects, developing a system of soft skills subjects including entrepreneurship, innovation and subjects for the industrial revolution 4.0 such as: Psychology, Information Technology, Law, Art, Journalism, Security, etc.

This is also affirmed by Rector of the UEB - Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le. He said comprehensive renovation is the inevitable trend at Vietnam National University, Hanoi in general and its members in particular. The renovation plan will be implemented in the period 2019-2025 with firm determination to ensure the best results.
