UEB’s lecturers to survey AUS4skill project in Australia

From 4th to 13th July 2019, under the support of AUS4skill project funded by the Australian Embassy, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Tu and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Thuy, alumni of Swinburne University of Technology, who came to Melbourne and Sydney, Australia to conduct in-depth interviews within the project "Empowering women in corporate governance - comparative research between Australia and Vietnam”.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Tu, Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, on behalf of the research team has presented the research results of 3 cases in 3 provinces in Vietnam including Hung Yen, Thanh Hoa and Lang Son in the past 3 months. The findings focus on success factors as well as barriers to businesswomen in Vietnam. The research team proposes a number of recommendations to empower women in business and society. Open discussion has created ideas, recommendations and shared research results from graduate students and lecturers from Swinburne University of Business.

During this visit, the team had the opportunity to discuss with Professor Malcolm Abbott and his colleagues about research collaboration in the near future. As an expert in renewable energy economics in Australia, Professor Malcolm Abbott was an advisor to the Government of Argentina and the State of Victoria. He has cooperated with the research group on corporate governance in the bank since 2017. In the coming year, the UEB will coordinate with Swinburne University of Business to organize an international conference, scheduled on January 2020.

The deans also discussed the the cooperation in opening master program in international accounting with Swinburne University of Technology and doctoral training in Finance and Accounting with Latcoat University when working with representatives of two universities.

During the last working days, with the support of the Sydney University of Business and Sydney Southeast Asia Center, the team had chance to conduct in-depth interview with the experts, professors and CEOs in Sydney. The findings and sharing from these interviews are interesting and valuable to the expert team, helping them complete their group research.
