UEB's student research contest 2019

On 15th May, 2019, the student research contest of VNU University of Economics and Business was held at the Hall 801.


The contest was chaired by the UEB’s Vice Rector - Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu and attracted participation of lecturers and students of UEB.

In this school year 2018 -2019, there were 101 teams taking part in the research contest. After the first round in faculties, 9 excellent teams went through the finale.

 

Speaking at the conference, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu said, student research activity lies among the top priorities of the UEB. Scientific research helps students clarify specific issues, thereby, bring the theory to real life. Therefore, the UEB annually organizes the student research contest, which attracts participation of many students. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu believes that the activity will benefit the students drastically.

 
 
 

The student research competing at the contest focus on various issues which were highly valued for innovation. Many researches address critical issues with diverse research methods. Some researches solve urgent problems with diverse research methods. The judges appreciate students' efforts in collecting data as well as applying theory model in the research. Majority of the research are clearly written and reasoned with many practical examples.

 

At the end of the contest, two research on “Assessing the impact of Vietnam-China trade war on exports to the US” carried by students Hoang Duc Chinh, Pham Thi Thao, Ngo Mai Anh from Faculty of Economics and International Business and “Integrating Delphi technology and structural modeling (SEM) analysis of the intention in reduction of burning straw outdoor suburban Hanoi’s residents” carried by Vu Linh Chi, Tran Thu Xuan, Pham Thi Phuong from Faculty of Economics Development won the first prize.

 
 
 
 
 
Summarizing the contest, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Trung Thanh, Head of Department of Research and Partnership Development emphasized that Scientific research has been a strength of VNU UEB of both lecturers and students. Most well-known scientists grow up from research competitions from being students. The success of research teams today would be the launch pad for the future. Once again, he congratulated for a successful student scientific research season of UEB.
