Scientific research is freedom to suspect

This was what Dr.Vo Chi Thanh - Former Deputy Director of Central Institute for Economic Management talked to more than 100 students of VNU University of Economics and Business at the launching ceremony of student research competition on 10th December.


In the opening speech, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector of the UEB said, scientific research was of great value to students. It helps them work independently and confidently to explore the "mysteries". Moreover, research competition was a place to seek for and nurture research talents, who will become scientists in the future. She also shared that when she was a student she also actively involved in scientific research, then she gained the knowledge and continued her studies to higher levels and now she has become a scientist. She always proud of her student time when she enthused in scientific researching.

After a speech of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu, Prof. Dr. Le Trung Thanh, Head of Office of Research and Partnership Development, introduced to the students about the regulations, assessment methods, prizes of the competition. Accordingly, the products of scientific research will be recorded as equivalent subjects, high-quality products will participate in the VNU student research competition.

Dr. Vo Tri Thanh, Former Deputy Director of Central Institute for Economic Management inspired the students to participate in research as "Research is freedom to suspect." He said, everyone is curious and wants to explore but there are a lot of obstacles that prevent them from acquiring new knowledge. With scientific research, the students are free to explore and free to make mistakes. In research, everything will be recorded and evaluated objectively.

 

At the end of the day, Nguyen Chi - a student from Faculty of Accounting and Auditing, said: I was inspired to do scientific research. We’ll make a team and seek for topics. I hope this will be a memorable journey for all of us.
