Promoting globalization of education: Comprehensive cooperation with CUE - the biggest university of economics in Poland
With the orientation of education globalization and expanding cooperation with international universities, leaders of VNU University of Economics and Business (UEB) has recently worked with Cracow University of Economics (CUE) - the biggest university of economics in Poland.
The University was established in 1925 and ranked among the best universities in Cracow - the academic center of the university. The working trip opened the opportunities for UEB’s lecturers and students to exchange in Europe, besides the current exchange programs in Japan, Korea, Germany, France and Sweden.
International cooperation in training, enhancing the capacity of lecturers in the two leading universities
As part of the Emus project on enhancing governance capacity in higher education, Rector of the UEB - Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Truc Le had a meeting with Rector of Cracow University of Economics, the vice rectors in charge of research, student exchange and the director of international programs.
Cracow is a multi-disciplinary university with outstanding programs in economics, law, finance and banking given by the professors who had fruitful experiences in teaching in many countries. The university is the destination of many students from developed countries in Europe, Asia etc. VNU University of Economics and Business is among the top universities in Vietnam with a large number of lecturers graduated from developed countries (over 72%), who can teach well in English.
Rectors of the two universities
During the meeting, the leaders of the two universities have worked on many fields of university management, training management, scientific research and reaching agreement on cooperation of many activities, including exchange of lecturers and staff, top-up programs, student exchange, study tour and organization of conferences.
Promote collaborative research activities
Cracow University of Economics owns a journal indexed in Scopus. This will be the bridge for scholar exchange and scientific papers of lecturers of the two universities. Leaders of Cracow University of Economics highly appreciated capacity of UEB’s lecturers, who can contribute great articles for the journal.
In addition, there are a number of state-level research projects on economic issues and economic cooperation between Vietnam and Poland that have been deployed. These projects will be supported by experts and scholars of both universities, which are expected to strengthen trade-economic partnership between the two universities.
It is expected that the two universities will sign a memorandum of understanding in November, 2018. This will be the basis for implementing all cooperative activities. This cooperation is a part of UEB’s strategy in internationalization and expanding cooperation network all over the world.
